What is conscious leadership? Here are 3 quotes to help you understand and (re)connect to the conscious leader within
When I first heard “conscious leadership,” I thought it was some pretentious, new-age psychobabble.
But personal experience and a decade of coaching and training leaders have taught me that self-awareness and self-acceptance are the first two steps in all transformation.
Here are three quotes that inspire me to help people lead consciously:
Conscious leaders take a stand
“Conscious leaders stand up for what is right, for what they believe in. They stand for something and they know what they stand for. This is not simply about following a set of principles. To really stand for something, we must make tough choices; it is about who we are and how we show up, about what we will not do as much as what we will do.”

Conscious leaders tell the truth
“Conscious leading is taking consistent actions that make a positive difference for your people, family, friends, community, organizations, and environment, while making the world a better place to live. A conscious leader is everyone who makes the decision to be one, believes in their heart they are a leader and takes the steps to live and be an example for the world to follow. Being a conscious leader is an ongoing journey and the personal wisdom that you gain, learn and apply along the way.”

Conscious leaders upgrade
“It is no longer enough for us to simply sprinkle more content on top of our existing leadership mindsets and expect to flourish in our leadership roles in this new world. Just as we can’t run new software on an old operating system and expect a great performance, what’s needed in our leadership is an upgrade of our operating system itself. This upgrade is what is meant by conscious leadership.”
